Here is the Cal4Wheel & HD4W Safety List which covers everything our club checks for too. Once you have collected all these items you can attend big Events without any worries & you'll feel ready for anything. Many items can be found at Harbor Freight without spending much money such as; first aid kits, tow straps, jacks, fire extinguishers, Tow hooks, & folding lug wrench's. A CB Radio is not required but makes trail runs safer & more fun. Good CB equipment can be bought at either Rosamond or Mojave Radio Shacks, (Mojave has the best selection) such as Cobra, make sure you read the CB Tech Article in the Repair/Mod section of the Forum for install tips & best performance. If your attending an Event expect a safety inspection on these items.

1. Roll bar or factory installed hard top.
2. Functional parking brake or micro-lock.
3. Tow strap or rope (recommend rated at 2 times the vehicle weight).
4. First aid kit.
5. Jack capable of lifting the vehicle & tools to change tire.
6. Spare tire with diameter within 3 inches of existing tires (no temporary spares).
7. Fire extinguisher with gauge indicating good/full, appropriately stored.
8. Seat belts for all vehicle occupants.
9. Antennas must be rigid or restrained in a manner to prevent injuries.
10. Adequate attachment points front and rear, i.e. tow hooks, receiver, etc. Tow balls are not permitted.
11. Battery hold downs (no bungie cords).
